In this Stockist Spotlight, we speak with Lisa, owner of The Derm Loft in Edithvale, about the clinic’s growth, its education-led approach to client care and the role Environ® has played in supporting consistency across consultations, treatments and homecare recommendations.

Can you tell us a little about your clinic, your client base and what you want to be known for?
We scaled and expanded The Derm Loft, opening our Edithvale clinic in November 2024. We are a results-driven clinic offering a wide range of advanced skin treatments, from device-based services through to cosmetic injectables, with a strong focus on skin health.
Our client base is made up of people looking for long-term skin solutions rather than quick fixes. We pride ourselves on taking a personalised and holistic approach, ensuring every client receives a curated treatment and homecare plan tailored to their skin concerns, lifestyle and goals.
We want to be known for delivering real results while creating a welcoming and educational experience for every client who walks through our doors!
What has been working well in your business over the past 6–12 months?
One of the biggest things that has worked well for us has been simplifying our product offering and focusing solely on one skincare line. This has allowed our team to develop a much stronger understanding of the products, creating greater confidence when recommending tailored treatment plans and curated skincare routines to clients.
We’ve found that keeping things simple has improved both staff education and client trust, while also creating more consistency in client outcomes. Clients are becoming more invested in understanding their skin and recognising that consistency at home is just as important as in-clinic treatments when it comes to achieving long-term results.
What role has Environ® played in that success?
Being an Environ®-exclusive clinic, the brand has been one of the key contributing factors to the overall growth and success of our business. Focusing solely on Environ® has allowed us to simplify and strengthen our approach to skin health, while creating consistency for both our team and our clients.

Is there a product, range, routine, treatment or category that has become especially important for your team or clients?
The Youth EssentiA range has become a staple for many of our clients, especially those focused on ageing concerns and maintaining overall skin health. Clients really respond well to the gradual progression approach and the simplicity of following a consistent routine, while also noticing visible improvements in their skin so quickly!
Our customised DF facials have also become a regular part of many clients’ treatment plans. Because each facial is tailored to the individual, we’re able to adapt treatments based on their skin condition, concerns and goals at the time, which has been really valuable in supporting long-term skin outcomes.
How do you introduce Environ® recommendations during a consultation without making the client feel overwhelmed?
We approach consultations in a very personalised and educational way rather than making them feel overly product focused. A big part of that is sharing the background behind Environ® and Dr Des Fernandes, such as his experience, research and the longevity of the brand itself. Clients really appreciate understanding the philosophy behind the products and knowing the line has been trusted within the industry for many years.
We also spend a lot of time breaking down exactly what the client is looking for, whether that’s simplifying their routine, focusing on specific skin concerns or working within a particular budget. Rather than overwhelming clients with too many products at once, we focus on creating a routine that feels realistic and achievable for them. We’ve found this helps clients stay consistent, committed and excited throughout their skin journey while still achieving long-term results.

What does your team do to build confidence with routine progression, treatment planning, retail conversations or follow-up?
Education and communication are a huge part of our clinic culture. Our team focuses on making clients feel supported rather than “sold to”. We spend time explaining skin function, treatment timelines and realistic expectations so clients feel empowered and informed throughout their journey.
We also prioritise follow-up communication and regular skin reviews to monitor progress, adjust routines where needed and celebrate improvements with clients. This helps build trust and long-term relationships while keeping clients motivated and engaged in their skin journey.

Is there a simple system, display idea, treatment planner, education habit or client follow-up process that has helped you get better results?
One thing that has really helped our clinic is creating consistency across every part of the client journey by working exclusively with Environ®. Because our team uses the range every day, there’s a strong level of familiarity and confidence when educating clients on products, treatment pairings and long-term skin plans.
It has also helped create a more seamless experience for clients, where recommendations feel clear, personalised and easy to follow rather than overly complicated. We’ve found that this consistency has played a big role in helping clients stay engaged and committed to their skin journey.
What is one challenge you have worked through recently as a clinic owner or team, and what helped?
One challenge we’ve definitely noticed recently has been the rise of TikTok trends and influencer-driven skincare recommendations, which I’m sure every clinic has been faced with! Clients are constantly exposed to new products and routines online and at times we’ve had clients move away from their prescribed skincare plans because they were enticed to try products that ultimately weren’t suited to their skin.
Those clients have eventually come back to us after experiencing irritation, breakouts or setbacks with their skin, which has helped us reinforce the importance of having a professionally curated treatment plan tailored specifically to their skin needs. It has also reminded us how important client education is and the value of staying confident in our professional knowledge and approach.
We now spend even more time helping clients understand why we recommend certain products and treatments rather than simply following trends. We’ve found this has strengthened trust with our clients and helped them stay more consistent and committed to their long-term skin journey.
What would you suggest another Environ® stockist try if they wanted to grow the brand in a practical, education-led way?
Focus on simplifying the client journey and prioritising education over selling. Clients respond really well when they understand why they are using a product and how it supports their skin goals.
Creating confidence around vitamin A progression and linking treatments with homecare has been incredibly valuable for us. We’ve found that when clients feel educated and supported, retail naturally becomes part of the results journey rather than feeling like an additional sale!
