June is Acne Awareness Month, a timely prompt to revisit one of the most common concerns presenting in clinic: breakout-prone, congested and problem skin.
For these clients, rather than normalising first and targeting later, Environ® recommends normalising and targeting simultaneously from day one. That means introducing the Focus Care Clarity+ Range alongside the appropriate Skin EssentiA® vitamin A moisturiser from the start, helping support visible congestion, excess oil and breakouts while also addressing the underlying need for vitamin A.
An important distinction:
For most skin concerns, Environ® recommends starting with the Vitamin STEP-UP SYSTEM® and introducing targeted Focus Care products later.
For breakout-prone skin, the approach is different. Normalise and target at the same time.
This is why the Focus Care Clarity+ Range is recommended alongside Skin EssentiA® from the beginning. Youth EssentiA® is not suitable for breakout-prone skin conditions. The client should use the appropriate Skin EssentiA® vitamin A moisturiser as part of the daily routine, alongside the Clarity+ products.
The Focus Care Clarity+ Protocol
A simple three-phase routine designed to support blemish-prone and congested skin.
Phase 1: Clean
Focus: Cleanse thoroughly, reduce excess oil, and prepare the skin for treatment products.
Botanical Infused Sebu-Wash Gel Cleanser
A mattifying foaming cleanser that helps wash away dirt and excess surface oil, leaving skin feeling fresh and clean.
Botanical Infused Sebu-Tone Clarifier
A clarifying toner formulated to help remove the build-up of dead skin cells and minimise the appearance of oily shine, leaving skin looking smoother and more refined.
Phase 2: Control
Focus: Target visible breakouts, refine texture, and support skin balance with acids, botanicals, and vitamins including vitamin A.
Hydroxy Acid Sebu-Lac Lotion + Vita-Botanical Sebu-ACE Oil
These two products are mixed together in equal quantities and applied after cleansing. Used together, they help improve the appearance of breakouts while supporting smoother-looking, more balanced skin.
Botanical Infused Sebu-Spot Blemish Gel
A targeted blemish treatment to help improve the appearance of visible spots and congestion.
Phase 3: Clear
Focus: Provide an extra clearing step to support visibly congested or breakout-prone skin.
Hydroxy Acid Sebu-Clear Masque
An exfoliating acid masque designed to help clear the appearance of existing breakouts and leave skin looking visibly clearer.
Use every second or third evening only, after cleansing and before applying Sebu-Lac Lotion and Sebu-ACE Oil.

Why this protocol matters
Breakout-prone skin can be influenced by excess oil, congestion, dead skin cell build-up, and environmental or lifestyle factors. Environ® addresses this with a routine that is structured, easy to explain, and specifically designed for this skin condition.
When reviewing a client with congestion, visible breakouts, or excess oil, this is a useful time to explain that Environ® takes a different approach for this skin type. Rather than delaying targeted products, the Focus Care Clarity+ Range is introduced alongside Skin EssentiA® from day one, making the recommendation clear, structured, and easy to follow at home.
